2010 seems to have gone by in a flash, it must be the most giig filled year I have ever known and it pretty much started as 2009 left off with Will and The People, I guess 2010 has been a transitional period for these boys but they have at last found that perfect symmetry of mind and ambition and this line up looks set for the long term. I need not really champion these boys again on here my thoughts are well documented on this subject and luck willing ,as talent and hard work has nothing to do with it , this will be their year, however 2010 was not all about Will as there were a few other people out there who balanced out what may seem my obsession ,which actually it is not ,I have a passion for music and in Will and whoever he chooses to be his people I just get the buzz you seldom get with artists after you have seen them.. well lets just say a few times and I need them to succeed so badly as I know how much they deserve to, so heres fingers crossed, I am not going to document every gig of the ..few I went to but I suppose the Summer Festivals of chilling, laughing and moments you look back on and smile at are the best.

I think here I need to mention my fellow giggers,the ones I have met in person and all the ones who share this cyberspace of musical happiness with me, I usually add this bit at the end but realise you are really probably the most important part other than the boys above and sorry they will always have top billing in my musical heart no excuses there ...Its great that there are so many like minded people out there who love music as much as me, and are prepared to make many sacrifices for that perfect gig..who can forget the brilliant time we had in London last April, from all over the world we came to pay homage to a certain young man from Scotland and friendships were renewed and new ones forged and I was left with the overwhelming sense of what a wonderful group of people you are , and very resourceful as well at making passes that gain us AAA :-).

April was also time to once again reconnect with a young man who I first saw a few years ago when he must have been about 12 !!! Sam Beeton, a definate one to watch and another person who gains my admiration as much for his detirmination to succeed and not be beaton ( no pun intended) as for his talent but that is massive and hopefully 2011 will see him take a step forward towards his goals, but to be honest although it may not be fun for the artist I still maintain that true sustainable success needs to be gained over time and not overnight and time is something Sam has plenty of, although I have less so crack on with it Sammy boy.

I have skipped a month and a band that really only came onto my radar this year although it has taken them 12 years to become an overnight success.. 30 Seconds to Mars, now I could say I went to see them because I fell in love with their music and I do love it but lets be honest I just went because I thought Jared Leto was very hot, at Nottingham Arena they were all what a class arena act should be.. a big show with very few props and special effects just Jared Leto who seems to have the ability to fill every inch of The Arena with his presence, every inch a star , and of course its all very Hollywood how could it not be but the connection with the crowd is palpable and I believe no one connects better than Jared.. and no I did not believe we were the best crowd ever but its great to hear you say it any way. I was to catch these guys 3 more times in 2010 and each time better than the last, although I suspect my close up time with Mr Leto will be the lasting memory .. OK very shallow of me but hell I am allowed to be now and again.

Another young man I caught for the first time in 2010 was Tom Bradley, I will be honest if he was not Wills cousin I may never have seen him but after the intitial gig it was the talent of the guy that bought me back nothing more, a great voice ,great material and the ugly stick has not visited him so he is three quarters there its just that lucky break required but hopefully this is another aspiring artist who luck will visit this year, recommend you go and see him really soon.

I find myself dotting back and forth through the year I think I need a continuity person !!! , to one gig that maybe set the standard for the whole year Paolo at King Tuts in February, this was a small magical show where he was absolutely on fire a man of immense talent maybe not the best at crowd interaction but somehow this does not seem to matter
a truely memorable night spent with my lovely friends in Scotland whose hospitality is legendary , and meeting them was all thanks to Will so thats another way in which you added to the richness of my life young man.

Somewhere mixed in the above were The Feeling, I love these guys and they also manage to have the most genuine and friendly fans around, I hope 2011 is a great year for them after a couple in which they have been a bit in the wilderness, look forward to a great tour in February and hopefully that new album will escape some day soon.

Last but definately not least, my good friends in LA Ed & Neil may this year bring you more great success but beware this year I am heading LA way :-)

And so to 2011 which is 7 hours old now.. my wishes

1. I wish Facebook had spellcheck .. so any mistakes above blame them

2. Will finally gets the regonition he deserves and his music is everywhere

3.All the talented artists above have a tremendous year

4. I get to meet up with all my many friends around the world, again or for the first time.

5.I get to nearly die again by suffocating in JL stomach ( allow me a few lustful moments)

My resolutions... absolutely none

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this a magical year... and to my special sons who have helped me so much and are not at all jealous that a certain bunch of People seem to have taken over my life and apologies to them for having a mother who leads the way in watching live music whilst they lament at home.. get a grip boys you are young get out there
